After Dinner Poem by BASAB CHAUDHURI

After Dinner

Rating: 5.0

I close my eyes
and see darkness splitting
vertically, horizontally
in different directions.

Sometimes light appears from the dark,
the eyeball becomes an ellipse,
then a circle,
the centre becomes smaller and smaller -
a quintessential central theme
from which stories originate.

I tighten eye muscles
new patterns emerge,
all my imaginations
rotate within eyeballs.
