Perhaps pieces of me will complete you in another universe,
even if it costs pieces of me to fix you.
But all I can do now is shout into the void,
hoping my feelings will traverse—
still chasing a connection that isn't fully there—
something I can't easily avoid.
I want us to notice life together,
to fall and stand tall, no matter what the weather.
Hoping for that happy ever after, after the hail,
but we are living the reality after the fairytale.
A sanctuary is what you are to me, not a trophy.
I will not leave you hanging and lonely.
With you, we'll explore all the possibilities,
even if I'm not one in them—if it is how it's supposed to be.
