Against The Waves Poem by Demetrius JonesDixon

Against The Waves

My mind is the boat.
That keeps my thoughts afloat.

While others drown.
I sit floating against the waves, happy, I never frown.

The ones drowning were the sailors that flocked towards the siren.
Most never liked me, but it doesn't matter, so I say 'iight then'.

The point that I'm stressing is; I'm me.
As long as I can stand what I see in the mirror, I'll stay me.

I stay above the influence, higher than Cloud 9.
Many try to assail me, but I'll believe me I'll be fine.

I think these words may have lost some of you, so I'll elucidate.
My goals are fixed so call it fate.
