Agonizing Woes Of Our Mother Earth Poem by Akshita Kohli

Agonizing Woes Of Our Mother Earth

O god prithee guide me;
How mayst I save my mother, my earth
From the cruel hands of pollution, global warming, deforestation
Of which there is no dearth.

Eons ago, the mellow lush green valleys and flamboyant hills
Nurtured the blossoming rose orchards;
O so lief, I threw pebbles that maundered in the brimming rill.
Playing with the dandelion florets,
Chasing the honey rising ombre dawn,
Egad my mien so dismal hearing the noise pollution from the constant blowing horns.

O'er the biars, o'er the wooded dells
Reminiscing the days when I played in the bright green feilds,
Anon midst machines, addicted to the ostentatious luxuries it yields.

'Tis beautiful nature that gave us birth
Nurtured the mankind, rendering it all the joys and the mirth-
Where the ebullient plumes of the peacock capered with the exhilarating mellow rain
And the heavy fluffy clouds that lied asleep in the arms of the dawn,
Where the amethyst azure cerulean sunset clinged the bosom of the sea;
Eftsoons whimsical dainty winds blew;
In the green thickets where once the beautiful rainbow hues engulfed the mellow green leaves, coruscating  it with tranquil soft dew.

Anon alas my soul, O bent so low with pain
Beholding the gambols of man;
Tossing the cosmos for his insatiable desires,
Setting the mother earth on fire.

Hath I nay efface the memories of the ephemeral joy,
yon oozed from my face
Neath the rainbow, smitten with rain
Ere surrounded midst technology and gadgets
O, with the click of a ventilator
The heart of a dead man  beats again.
Gathering the alabaster golden sheaves of the beautiful memories
Now wretched in bismirched drains;
O God, prithee tell me how mayst I save my mother, my earth
From the agonizing woes of the heavy shackles and the polluting chains
In this dungeon, O my earth so sad bleeding profusely with a shattered mien
O god, let my mother not thole the miseries of her sprogs, anon a turmoil, anon a bane.
