Alarm Clock Poem by Kathlyn Grace

Alarm Clock

The alarm screams
a new number one hit
as my eyes tear
wishing I had let them rest more
just another hour
maybe even two
my arms feel numb
as I try to pry them
from their set in place
tucked saftly in the matress
which could be my twin
I long to lay there
to not get up
to not check my email
and to turn off my cell phone
I long to lay there
listening to the number one hit
until it is over played
and another takes its place
