Alas! Where have all the years gone?
Did I dream my life, or is it real?

A part of this song has been fabulously translated into Dutch by Willem Wilmink. It is sung by Herman van Veen. The title, 'Klacht', means 'Complaint'. By shortening the lyrics, leaving out the 11th century and christian references, they have arrived at a song that speaks to today's people, while maintaining Walther's universal message of grief and solace: https: //www.youtube.com/watch? v=V8Bbed33L8c
