Alice Comes Home Poem by Alfred Ramos

Alice Comes Home

So how was Wonderland?
Did you find the secret to life?
We missed you sensible smile
As if it was cut off with a dull knife

We all know that life can be mysterious
As we search for peace and serenity
This house of cards we choose to live in
Won’t stand up to the turbulence of amorality

But we move on to build that inner strength
With that grateful gift we all possess
Pushing and pulling, rising and calling
Hoping for the plain and simple caress

So welcome back to our humble home
It’s where you were meant to be
You won’t find answers in that rabbit hole
Here, your friends embrace you most definitely
