Alive Poem by Lily Gray

Alive

A girl sat alone on her porch so she can see the world revolve around her
The world moved along without her family
They preferred the safety of the sanctuary of repeating the their everyday life
They were like a record stuck on repeat
Playing over and over and over again.

But what if one day someone stopped that record
What if someone was to skip over a song and change everything they knew
Would that create a ripple of events
Like how a stone hits the water when you skip it.

The girl stood up and stood next the gate surrounding her house and took a step
As she took that step she had decided
She decided that she was that stone
