All I Needed Was A Friend Poem by Heather Hill

All I Needed Was A Friend

Rating: 5.0

Invisible is what I am
To everyone that surrounds me
I am alone and hurting
There's pain that won't die

I feel alive but sometimes I wish I was dead
There's Problems no one will ever understand
I feel alone and invisible

Can you see me?
Why do you ignore me?
All I wanted was a friend or two
But You will never understand me

You will never see me
You will never care that I am all alone
In pain and misery

Can't you see I need a shoulder
I need someone to talk to
I need a helping hand
All I needed was a friend

Yes, it is very necessary to have a friend. But one thing I feel is that we should befriend ourselves first before moving out to others. The poem succeeds to convey the sense of isolation and its full impact. Nice work.
