All The Stars Poem by Maxine Clare

All The Stars

If all the tears were all the stars
that shine up in the sky
then all sad thoughts would be like clouds
slowly floating by

If all blue skies were dreams of you
my dreams would bluer be,
then all good times would all to port
upon a grieving sea

If all the winds where every sigh
that left you in the giving
then your last breath was shared in love
that lives on in the living

If all bird's songs were breaking hearts
that sang as they flew free
then every note upon the air
would travel back to me

If all the days where all the nights
I've cried a tear, it's true
then every Angel on the wing
is waiting there for you

if every dropp of water was my open heart to see all the world would be right before your eyes. Interesting poem. you ought to count the syllables in your lines and get a stronger cadence going. And shifting it 8 followed by 10 would actually give you more of a ballad form to the poem. Just a thought. A poet friend RH Peat
