All The Worlds A Stage Poem by nigel colledge

All The Worlds A Stage

I'm snug,37 celsius, Surrounded by a pink glow.......zzzzzzzz zzzzzzzz,

There is a rhythm, boom......boom Boom,

I want to dance, kick me feet out and strut my stuff,

Hold on......... I am asleep......what's all this pushing and shoving?

OMG! You want me to go through there? What is all this noise?

I am blinded by bright light; I am going back to sleep;

Some Son-of-a-Bitch is holding me by my ankles......UPSIDE DOWN!

He is spanking my bottom!

Time to act......Waaaaagggghhhhh!

Act 2

I'm a shepherd..... Mummy is in the third row,

Waving....... Mummy! I step forward.....kicking crib and babyJesus off stage,

Away in a manger stops.... a gasp from the hall.......they are agog!

Teacher is crying and leads me off stage.

Act 3 I'm age 12, school summer play to be Julius Caesar, Will I be, he, or Antony, Cassius or Octavius; Being an all boys school even Portia?

No.......I am Caesar's corpse.

As the bier is laid down stage a spider lands on my nose from the tree above, the corpse convulses suppressing the inevitable sneeze, Aaaaatttttiiiiiissssshhhhhooooo!

Final Act There are seven parts and 141 stanzas to my sorry tale, But I will cut the quick, If all the world is a stage........we are merely puppets, I am age 80 now.......soon I hope to meet the puppeteer that has been pulling my strings.......THE BASTARD!
