A Mid Simmer Snooze Poem by nigel colledge

A Mid Simmer Snooze

Cephalonia's sun scorched slabs Surrounding the soaking swimmers I slip silently in and out of sleep As I seem to be studying the script Zzzzzz, Zzzzzz, Zzzzzz.

Slipping into the seventies stirs Memories of slender svelte singles Showing their sublime sex to my Complete satisfaction, dream on

A snore shakes me, back to reality The sea shimmers and the swallows Swoop swiftly scooping a fly off the surface Splashing in the pool men and women

Grotesque sights scorch my senses A pregnant man of some twenty six stone Another six women, also of similar size Still thinking they look scintillating and sexy

Oh sad sad world I am like a sceptre Seeking and searching the secret past When spent life was simple and serene Back to studding my script, Zzzzzz, Zzzzzz.
