All The Young Girls Want To Be Mermaids Poem by Justin Gildow

All The Young Girls Want To Be Mermaids

Rating: 5.0

All the young girls want to be mermaids
That's what it seems like these days
During these times at least

Some want to grow a tail
Some want to have powers
Some have other ambitions
To which I have no clear idea of
But it's all just the same
They want to be mermaids

They want to explore
Swim under the sea
Glide with dolphins
That's what all the young girls who want
to be mermaids want
Nothing else, nothing more

In some way
I can agree with them
They want their tails
And who could blame them
They want that mystical sea magic
And they want it to last to the very end
It's what they want
In all their dreams, wishes, and hopes
of becoming mermaids
And who could despise them in wanting that
I mean, really, who could
