Almost Home Poem by ART PAUL SCHLOSSER

Almost Home

Almost home
Excited
Almost home
So delighted
Sick of riding on a bus
People talking on their phone and not to us
My back hurts from sleeping in a chair
I can't wait to see all my friends there

Almost home
But I must admit
Where I roamed
It was a great trip
People there were friendly and nice
They gave direction and good advice
Smiled and laughed at my songs
Wish my trip had been a little more long

Almost home
Feeling content
About the people I got to know
And where I went
Maybe I'll go back someday
Glad I had a chance to get away
But still I'm glad to be coming home
To where I grew and the kind people that are my own
