Alone Poem by Gloria Marites Rotoni

Alone

Alone I sit in silence,
No one here to talk to me,
The world goes on around me,
But I'm as lonesome as can be.

The sun sets in the distance,
The stars twinkle in the night,
But my heart is heavy with sadness,
As I long for someone's sight.

I wonder if they miss me,
Or if they've forgotten my name,
But the silence is all-consuming,
And I'm left with only shame.

So I sit here in my lonesome,
With nothing left to say,
Hoping that tomorrow,
Will bring someone my way.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Life is full of challenges, and it's not uncommon to feel alone when facing them. However, it's important to remember that being alone doesn't mean you're weak or incapable of overcoming obstacles. In fact, it can be an opportunity to develop your inner strength and resilience. Being brave in the face of challenges means acknowledging your fears and doubts, but not letting them control you. It means taking action despite feeling uncertain or uncomfortable, and trusting in your ability to handle whatever comes your way. One way to cultivate bravery is to focus on your strengths and accomplishments. Reflect on times when you've faced adversity and come out stronger on the other side. Use these experiences as a source of inspiration and motivation. Additionally, seek out support from friends, family, or a therapist if needed. Remember that you don't have to face challenges alone, and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. By being brave and facing challenges head-on, you can grow as a person and emerge stronger and more resilient than ever before.
