Alone Again Poem by Sine Nomine

Alone Again

We talked and laughed,
I never knew,
that you’d found love,
and we were through.

I thought you understood me,
that it would take time.
I thought you’d stay,
perhaps be mine.

But fate is cruel,
and I’m alone.
I’m laughing with you,
though my heart is stone.

I’ll wish you well,
and walk away.
Alone again.
Alone to stay.
