Alone Or Lonely Poem by Bhumika Chowdhury

Alone Or Lonely

Rating: 4.8

In the stillness of silence, you find your retreat,
Alone in your thoughts, where solitude meets.
A calmness surrounds you, a sense of release,
Peaceful and content, your worries decrease.

You think you're okay, embracing solace's touch,
Absorbing the silence, it doesn't feel like much.
Alone, not lonely, you make yourself believe,
Your heart finding solace, you long to retrieve.

But as time passes by, and the daylight starts to wane,
A subtle emptiness begins to seep through your veins.
The quiet turns deafening, the hollowness grows,
A longing for connection, your heart clearly shows.

For solitude, though soothing, can't fill every void,
That yearning for companionship, often unspoiled.
With darkness as your witness, you can no longer pretend,
The hollowness you feel, deep down it descends.

The echoes of laughter, the touch of a hand,
These simple joys in life, you've come to understand.
For to be truly fulfilled, in the depths of your core,
The warmth of another, you yearn to explore.

So let the daybreak remind you of what's true,
That connections are vital, and embrace is due.
Seek out those who nourish, who fill your soul's need,
For when loneliness lingers, love is the key..

Good enough, but for many, I guess, 'companionship' and 'love' may be had with a dog or cat, bird, or lizard in fact. 4 stars. bri : ) I prefer humans (at times) .
