Already Losing It Poem by Newo Enec

Already Losing It

No! I scream. I thrash and I cry
Knowing, I just know that you're trying
To steal it away from me
Well I'm already losing it
My hands grip harder on the wire
Already growing thinner, sharper
Slicing into my palms and digging deep into the flesh
It hurts to keep hold of it but I want this so bad
And you. You make a horrible situation much worse
By tugging on this weakening thread
Stop! Surely it will break
Into a million shreds, tiny strands
Of memories, fights and friendships
Makeups and breakups I once believed I had forgotten
Don't let this snap, surely my mind
Will drift forever in the ether
Reliving what I once fought so hard to force back
Don't. Just don't take this away from me
You try to break me down
You try to break me down and you won't succeed
