Always Poem by Spencer Zimmerman

Always

Now, oh beautiful universe, I submit to you
And apologize for not doing so sooner
I feel an amazing comfort in the notion
That we will always be together weaved

My loneliness before was learned
In times when I inevitably compare to
The couples of love seen frisking about
With their rays of smiles protruding out

A dictator you are and will always be
But you and I are not so indifferently
Separate and thus I am a lifted spirit
An exhilarated share of our vibrant energy

But exhilaration eventually wears down then off
And a fix for this would infinitely solve
The loneliness that creeps back inside
When my love cowers and holds desire to hide

But when one can be fixed they can also be broken
And so my vulnerabilities continue to be remnant like graves
In the sobering fact that we're subject to certain fates
That, in time, gives in gifts but then takes in rakes

Thus now, oh beautiful universe, I submit to you
And apologize for not doing so sooner
I feel an amazing comfort in the notion
That we will always be together weaved
