Always There Poem by Susan Oxford

Always There

When I am sad and feeling blue
I always go in search of you.
You hold me close and stroke my hair,
My heart lifts when you are there.

When life's frenzy gets to me
I know where it is I must be.
I seek the comfort of your calm,
Your words to me are a soothing balm.

When my temper rises and I fill with ire
I go to the one that can douse the fire.
You listen while I talk it through,
then help me decide what is best to do.

When unfounded fear begins to flare,
In a second you are there.
I snuggle up against your chest,
Your words of love put those fears to rest.

When I am happy and my spirits soar,
There's no one I want to be with more.
To share my joy with my soul's mate,
Who joins with me to celebrate.

When you and I are wrapped in love,
Closely fitted like a glove,
We revel in being husband and wife,
Sharing the emotions of our life.
