Lines Of Life Poem by Susan Oxford

Lines Of Life

I sit on the patio and look at you
I think of the things that we've been through.
I look at the age on your face
Not one line would I erase.

Each line, each furrow that I see
You've earned on this journey spent with me.
Sometimes our path has been rough
But all along we're strong, we're tough.

We were so young those years ago
So much history we now know.
Our love has known some ins and outs
But never in our heart were doubts.

The times we've had that were stormy
And days of sorrow when hearts were heavy.
We soldiered through to the other side
Strong, determined, our tears we dried.

And on our faces the lines have grown
Over these many years we've known.
My love for you will never end
You are my heart, my love, my friend.
