Am I A Fool Or Is Love That Foolish? Poem by Low Li Ling Jasmine

Am I A Fool Or Is Love That Foolish?

Again, I stood rooted as your footsteps took you far away
I kept my face well under wraps
Not letting the tears marring my calm respite

Like this, I am always the one watching you go
I tried to held my disappointment at bay
Allowing my senses to accustom themselves to your backview
You would never know your presence is a cause of concern

Have I fallen for you?
'I don't like you, I cannot like you, ' I repeated it like a mantra
Hoping it would chase away the feelings you had stirred inside me
But the whisper of temptation came and took away the uncertainty
Left me with the illusions of us together, if could, for eternity

It is saddening
That nothing could blur the sad line that drawn between daydreams and reality
Now pain spiked its cruel fingers into my heart
At the words buried deep inside that I can never get across

Like this, let the feelings flow with the wealth of hurt
Like this, let the sadness danced in my eyes
Like this, let the loneliness to familiarise with my day and night

Am I a fool or is love that foolish?
