Amor Fati Poem by Lily Ives

Amor Fati

Rating: 5.0

Hope -
A delusion,
A fool's gold.
We cling to abandoned altars
With our bloodied knees.
Broken -
We dream that this time
It will be different.
Living in a limbo,
While the seasons scurry past us
Like a falling star,
Leaving embers that fade into thin air.
We forget to hold the dirt in our palms,
And to see the blooming decay,
And to smell the stench.
Afraid -
We mask our wounds,
And force a smile across our cheeks
In perfectly organised rooms,
Amidst all the chaos -
And waste the only thing we have,
The love of our fate.
