Amphibian Woman Poem by Farah Taskin

Amphibian Woman

I prefer not to stay on land in this scorching heat
I rejoice as the water sprinkles over me
I hear the roar and gush of rushing water
My veins are rivers, my heart is an ocean, and the deep calls me home
Coolness, it satisfies me
Water drips from my hair
My hair smells watery
I am a water dweller this summer
The water washes the deodorant, scent, talcum powder and body lotion off my body
The water mixed with bath salt reminds me the salty sea
The body wash melts into my skin
It would be great to have a partner like Ichthyander

I know that even the mighty sun will grow tired
It will hide behind the cumulus clouds
The silvery drops will fall to the ground
I will soak in the silvery drops
