An Air Poem by Hazel Connelly

An Air

A melancholy air
As we gingerly walked
The water sodden track
Caused by the deluge
O rain the night before,
Without warning a
Strong gust
Toppled me off balance
Mood changed to laughter
Sun peeked from behind
A dark grey cloud
And smiled at me
I knew then
There would be a rainbow
