An Angel's Visit Poem by Dorothy Good

An Angel's Visit

(In memory of Royce David)
With rosebud fragrance on his brow
So sweet and tiny was this child,
Fresh dew of Heaven on his cheek
Eternal, precious, pure and mild.

So welcome was this darling babe
For father, mother and sister Dee,
We all made sure that there was room
For one more in the family.

Our hearts are torn, our tears are spent
For angels came to beckon him,
Into that land where all is well
And hearts ne'er fail nor hopes grow dim.

His time on earth was oh, so short
It seems we cannot understand,
Why all these darkened shades of blue
Are in the pattern God has planned.

Now through this darkened vale we see
Two little ones, each take a hand,
For Kevin and Mark were waiting there
To welcome Royce into that land.

His parting leaves an aching void
But now he bids us all to come,
'Join in! ' We're happy, free from care
Let's meet him in that heavenly home.
