An Autumnal Road Poem by Dr John Celes

An Autumnal Road

A road is newly laid;
No one is seen around;
No motors, commuters;
There isn't the faintest sound.

The road is lined by trees;
The trees have colored leaves;
Cherries and Mayflowers:
It is a color mix!

A gentle breeze does blow;
The avenue looks new;
Except for rustling leaves,
There is almost no sound.

The quiet place allures
And the beautiful trees;
A paradise on earth -
God-made for poetry.

Away from noise of towns;
Away from workplace din;
A stroll for health down here
Can recoup mind and heart.
