An Eye For An Eye Poem by Spirit River

Destruction to beget destruction, death for a death?
An Old Testament instruction, now fulfilled and transcended by Love,
Allowed a chosen family to survive the years until Salvation came
In Human Form.

There is no transgression, loss of property or life, to equal the sacrifice
Of Jesus - God in the Flesh, completely innocent and full of Grace, a death for all deaths, a turning away from all riches of this earth, so that humanity may find Infinite Treasure.

We must stop aggression and harm to the innocent. We must defend ourselves, but retribution multiplies evil. We must live, breathe and share Grace.

Now we have been told to Love as we wish to be Loved, Forgive as we wish to be Forgiven, give as we wish to receive.

All of humanity deserves to live in a safe world. We need to honor and protect all life, as it is Truly a gift of Love.
