An Intellectual Love Poem by Jay Cooper

An Intellectual Love

Attaining an intellectual love?
Think of me that lucky?
Your optimism is nice to hear
But I nest in the heavens
Sea fairers and land walkers look up at me in awe
Is that really what I want?
maybe.
'Castles made of sand fall in the sea eventually'
A wise man once said
Seems to correlate with my previous ventures of keeping the fish I catch
They're not made for my talons to hold
Comfort for me is only found in melodies from the clouds
And the glittering fairies that dance on them
But these skies are lonely
I doubt I'll attain an intellectual love
Prove my fatalism you say?
I can't.
