An Invocation Poem by Sister M. Marcy Baldys, CSSF

An Invocation

As I kneel down to pray
For my beloved U.S.A.,
To God I humbly say:
"Protect our dear Nation, Lord." My God, in your wisdom you see
We are the land of the brave and the free
Proclaiming true liberty
By keeping your holy word. Guide our plans to gently foil
Many nations' unrest and turmoil
As they strive to conquer more soil;
Thereby making their efforts absurd. Touch the minds and spirits of those souls
Who other nations seek to control
And their consciences gently do mold
Dear God, we ask to be heard. Amen
