An Observer Poem by pump princess

An Observer

An observer
That’s all I am
All THEY’LL let me be
Society that is
Hah….
Societal optometrists
Prescriptions meant to blur these observant eyes
if only they knew….
Ya, if only
I’m staring straight ahead
A picturesque vision of them
Vampires they are
Sucking the life out of some,
The soul out of others….
A feeding frenzy induced by fear
FEAR
Terrified I might straighten the curved glass
Bend the lenses
Clarity
Unveiling the true monsters that roam freely behind a wall of tinted lenses
