An October! Poem by Khalil Gabol

Lofty were the laughs of these little leaves
Kind and courteous was their cute camaraderie
Unified through love and affection
They were both happy and joyous.

Together with company of birds, they sang
Together with melancholic moon, they moaned
Together with shining sun, they smirked
Together with the whirl of wind, they wandered.

Beautiful, bedecked, blushing, but blissless
The season scythe was about to hack them
Ominous, ailing and assailant,
An October, envious of them, hovered!

The cruel October assailed
Afloat in the streams of agony,
We shattr'd,
The leaves of love from our lives, Beloved!
