An Ode To Sorrow Poem by soham chakraborty

An Ode To Sorrow

Rating: 4.5

To light and to a starry night
You appreciate all that is bright
And you bow down to a spectacle
And you raise your hats to victory
While all along you praise prosperity
Suffers the most underrated story
The story of sorrow, the devalued prince
Who was forgotten at dawn, and ever since
Is being demeaned
But have you ever wondered?
Yes you, the one overwhelmed with the existence of mirth
Have you ever wondered what would happen to your satisfaction
Without all the unsatisfied moments you spent staring into the abyss?
Could you ever appreciate appreciation
Without the unappreciated criticisms?
Without the miseries of the earlier days
Could you relish the finest tomorrows?
Or would you really deserve delightful pleasures
If you had never walked past the undeserved sorrows?
