An Ode To Urukpirhue (The Traditional Kerosene Lamp)

AN ODE TO URUKPIRHUE (A TRADITIONAL KEROSENE LAMP)

Urukpirhue
The traditional kerosene lamp
That burns brightly in the dark
Your inventor appreciates light
And that birthed your existence
Standing the test of time from time immemorial
Preceding even the modern lanterns and electricity

Urukpirhue
With you we need not worry
Whether the Power holding company
Will give us regular power supply
B'cos you got us covered
And with you
We wake up every morning
Having black phlegms covering our nostrils
As though we passed through the chimney

Urukpirhue
Indeed there are great inventors
And your own inventor is one of such
I don't want to dwell on the stories, philosophies or fallacies of humans
And that is why I have this one question to ask

Urukpirhue
Who invented you?
