Ancient Egyptian Death Poem by T N McCoy

Ancient Egyptian Death

Rating: 5.0

All dead
Enter a dark
Netherworld to receive
Judgment from Pantheon below.
Beware!

For heart
Of dead: enter
Hall of Truth for weighing;
Dog-headed ape Thoth sits atop
The scale.

Maat
Also greets you:
With feather to balance.
Does conscience equal truth and law?
Pray so.

Balance!
Joy of success
Brings smile to soul of dead.
Life and peace forever-desired
Result!
