And He Passed At Last: Ciroma Chukwuma Adekunle

Oh, a legend!
Ciroma Chukwuma Adekunle
That WAEC 'regular customer'
With registration number 4251102068
Who sat for exams for many years
Yet that sad chap failed for decades!

He sat with our parents;
In the scorching sun
In the harmattan whistling foggy wind
And in the rains
Yet he 'failed' many times
Even when he sat with me in the 10s

As I climbed in age
Then I asked about him
And I was told
He made it through
Oh, what a man!
Oh, what a legend!

I then told my old uncle about him

He laughed gap-toothed head off
And recalled how often
He sat in exams with him
Congratulations, Ciroma Chukwuma Adekunle!

(This poem is just for fun. Ciroma Chukwuma Adekunle, a fictional name, was used by the WAEC for many years, till recent times it was changed to Dikko Chinedu Oladapo) .
