And I Shall Sleep. Poem by Melpomene's Tears

And I Shall Sleep.

Rating: 4.8

I wander thru
Waiting and learning
Wondering and searching
Staying afloat in the sea that is life
Steering clear of sharks and ships
At night when the stars burn bright
I float around, aimlessly
Counting dreams and burning balls of gas
All lifetimes and star years away
When lucky the aurora embraces
My wandering soul
For then in her embrace
I exist in the past, present, future
When my time beckons
I will sink to the depths
To rest on the soft sandy bed
Thoughts of dreams and long lost love
Will keep me awake
I will watch the sunlight dance on waves
Will welcome lost brothers to join
The growing band of souls lost at sea
Sunlight and starlight lights my empty sockets
I smile
And I sleep.

It's awesome.Counting dreams and burning balls of gas, reminded me of lion king, that's neat. Sunlight and starlight lights my empty sockets I smile And I sleep. Yeah, that's got to be my favorite line. Overall it's awesome. Good job. :)

The definition of sadness and peace in the simplicity of poetic language. Call this next line cheesy but I have to say it. I could actually place myself in the situation and actually feel invisible tears pouring out. No joke.
