And The Wishes Go On Poem by Asma Khan

And The Wishes Go On

I wish you were a ring on my finger
and I could see you in blue amber

I wish you were a moon in this lonely night
and I could soothe my eyes with your sight

I wish you were a blazing sun
and I could bask in for fun

I wish you were this endless sea
and I could dive in deep and free

I wish you were my fragrance
and I could smell you from your essence

I wish you were my book
and I could read you just in one look

I wish you were my heart
and I could give you, it's each part

I wish you were the one I wished for
and I could draw you in the sky like a star
