And Then You Realise, You Killed The Moment Poem by Rhea Smith

And Then You Realise, You Killed The Moment

Do you ever want to relive a moment in your life?
Not to go back and change the past
But to just experience it one more time
To soak in the beauty of the moment as it passed.
This feeling of nostalgia,
This desperate need to feel again,
Starts leaking into the moments themselves
And you find yourself dreading their end.
Instead of living the moment to the fullest,
You start frantically searching for ways,
Ways you can stretch the moment to the brim
And then the end is close and looking grim,
So you forget to feel good in the moment
Your beautiful memoir has turned into a fairytale,
A story you wished you'd lived.
