And We Have A Plot Of Land Poem by Tamiz Ludi

And We Have A Plot Of Land

And we have a plot of land—
Veiled in a gray shroud of fog,
Where the road has no end,
Only the endless repetition of footsteps.

There, an ancient banyan tree
Stands upon uprooted dreams,
And on its leaves gather
The dew of unspoken words.

On that land, the hand of time
Writes invisible histories;
We only hear the tune of an unfinished song
Drifting in the distant breeze.

There, two shadows
Merge into one at dusk,
Yet stand apart again
In the first rays of dawn.

On that land, no crops grow—
Only weeds of memory sprout;
We tenderly water
A nameless flowering tree.
