THE REASON FOR ROBERT BROWNING TO WRITE THIS POEM WAS HIS FRIEND KENYON WHO ASKED HIM TO BUY A POTRAIT OF PAINTING FROM PITTI PALACE IN FLORENTINE.ROBERT WAS UNABLE TO BUY THE PICTURE.HE SAW THE PAINTING IN THE PALACE AND DECIDED TO WRITE A POEM ON THAT PICTURE THAT WAS PAINTED BY ANDREA DEL SARTO.HE THOUGHT TO SEND THAT TO HIS FRIEND.THE POEM WAS NOT WHOLLY DEPENDED ON PAINTING BUT ALSO ON GEORGE VASARI’S DIARY.GEORGE VASARI WAS ALSO A STUDENT OF ANDREA DEL SARTO.ANDREA DEL SARTO SON OF TAILOR ‘DEL SARTO’ WAS A ITALIAN PAINTER.IN 1518 HE MARRIED A WIDOW NAMED LUCREZIA WHO EARLIER SERVED AS MODEL FOR ANDREA NEARLY FOR SEVEN YEARS.HE THEN WENT TO COURT OF FRANCIS-1 IN FRANCE, THERE HE PAINTED SOME PICTURES.THE KING GAVE HIM SOME AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BUY SOME PICTURES IN ITALY.HE WENT TO ITALY WITH HIS WIFE THERE HE SPENT THE MONEY AND NEVER DARE TO RETURNED TO FRANCE.HE WAS AN EXCELLENT DRAUGHTSMAN AND HIS BEST COLLECTIONS OF DRAWINGS IS IN THE “UFFLZI”. ANDREA DEL SARTO IS A DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE.DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE IS A POEM IN WHICH DRAMATIC ACTION IS SUSPENDED AND A CHARACTER OR SITUATION IS DISCUSSED INSTANTLY REVEALING THE CHARACTER OF THE SPEAKER
