Angel Sent Poem by Robert Combs

Angel Sent

Rating: 2.0

earth was used to make me
His breath to breathe
and a woman.... she stood
by waiting in the flame
lighted by no mortal affection

I stand so far beneath you
as far as heaven is tall
I come to you limping
thru the shadows hand
of iron resting on my shoulder
if I was Michael your angel sent
I could not love you more
such a temptation you hold
my heart repaired... welded
with the strength of steel
born on the smooth slope
that takes the flower to the snake
melted
I wear a mask
