Angel Watching Poem by john hayes

Angel Watching

She moves between the fallen slabs sandy chalk the names long gone
Blowing silently & twisting grass the stillness quiet of the past
She knows who's lying there  neath not too far a spirits breath, they no not time they know not pain the years above were ere short lived
Waiting silently a call
To collect a mortal body soul to move again amounts the flowers and see the light
of new tomorrow's ah death were is your sting ah for a season then long past hope flirts near to the light then leaves  spaced out dangling vast, hover whilst
Those bones decay waiting for the coming day when hope will find immortal
sand and rise again
In promised land shout no more death and no more dying life forever it's eternal see the light and see the day angels singing
What a day
hope,
reason,
happiness,
ah fulfilment.
