Angels Poem by Dae Kirkegaard

Angels

Both the stars shine so brightly in the sky,
Brilliantly gleaming, they land in your eyes.
And all the time I spent running from you,
I never forgot how brightly your eyes shine.
Your lips as red as roses; I miss thee.
And your eyes, so royally amethyst;
And your smile! The Gods are envious!
My dear, I miss thee with all my being,
Your smile haunts me every day, I feared.
Your unending reach, pulling me closer;
And still I run from thee my lover true,
By shadows pulled down your power strong.
Watching like the crows that Odin sends here,
And still, I run from the love I fear.
