Angels' Lace Poem by Melissa Goodman

Angels' Lace

Rating: 4.2

I thought about it while I sat there still-
How infinite the time had seemed as well
In so much abundance is where she fell
It was not long before they took her will.
You see, I watched all of this pass me by,
Sitting there, movement impaired, in disbelief
No hand of mine reached out to soothe her grief
She fell, but bystanders don't testify
However, this is all just reflection-
With days counted, crossed, and thrown away
They decide fast from our selection-
The angels watched her make a plea to stay.
And in the deepest of nights I can hear-
The cry she makes, telling me not to fear.
