Anger Poem by Matthew Edan Oliver Palma

Anger

Blank stares
Hearts beware
Emotions are shared
Pain that we wear

… how long can we stand
how strong can we get
the sand in my hand
is much heavier when wet

Sharp words
Mouth of lords
A dagger and a sword
A lifetime of discord

… how far can we go
how clear can we see
the clouds of doubt grow
it drowns us to the sea

Forgotten smiles
Bittered hello…
A mirror of lies
Reflect all but glow

… how deaf can we be
… how numb can one be
… 'neath shadows of a tree
… we choose not to see
