Angry Sea Poem by Bill Wright

Angry Sea

The Twelve Apostles is what they are called
At least that's how they started,
Huge limestone stacks in an angry sea
Now four of them departed.

This iconic Australian site
Sits on the Ocean Road,
Bringing photo hungry tourists
Flocking from around the globe.

Coastal erosion is taking its toll
Already it has claimed four,
And the experts say it won't be long
Before the Apostles are there no more.

For once this is not the fault of man
It's Mother Nature in the raw,
She's the one who makes the rules
And we have to respect her law.

I am glad I saw this wondrous site
When most of it was still to see,
Before the rest of them disappear
Claimed by the angry sea.
