Anguish Of A Lover Ii Poem by David Oladipupo Olorunshola

Anguish Of A Lover Ii

What we had,
Is magical, like a dream
It was natural, pure
Such passion,
Such romance,
What strong feelings
Only that it is affected
And it’s been distorted
The memory,
What we shared together,
By your actions,
And your utterances.
Like you were poisoned
Against our love
You didn’t believe me
You joined them
Joining forces with them
In castigating, In ridiculing me
Destroying the force of our love
I pleaded with you
You will not listen
Neither will you
Entertain any entreaty
I know, I will have to
End it all.
