Animals - Poem by Bob Geer

They ogle and are proud of it. They are led by it and they live it. It is motivation, it is satisfaction and it is love to them.
Greed for the bodies, the bumps and lumps.
The floor licks at shoes and therein decides their value; their role cannot be denied because they were put here for us.
Whoever was something to them before they came can be forgotten. It is the expectation derived from intoxicating the primary needs.

I fear of a time where my friends become too tight for my feet or too baggy for my torso.
Or a time in which I am no longer fit for their wardrobe. It could be soon and it will be my choice.

It will be my choice.
