Annie God Poem by Brandon Owens

Annie God

It's all in your head
The world isn't painted in red
I have time for one more nightmare
And then sand falls on my head
Goodnight monsters in the closest
Can you put away my shoes
Shhhsh please
Are you trying to wake the dead
Stop playing with Annie

It's all in your head
The world isn't painted in blue
You can't find the answers there
Why do you look so confused
You're on the moon again
And you think you can breathe
Haha scream
Are you trying to waste the truth
Just give in to Annie

It's all in your head
The world isn't painted in yellow
She was born a glow worm
It makes you such a cheery fellow
I stay calm so I can be mellow
Someone turn off the light
BOOM, dammit
The bombs burst in air
I'm sure you're dead Annie

It's all in your head
The world isn't painted in green
He's always walking so angry
I remember when it hurt you
But you were pushing me
And what do you want me to do
Smack him
Are we even being human
Don't reach out to Annie

It's all in your head
The world isn't painted in black
Some times you have to draw the line
Make sure it's a curvy one
Otherwise the glue comes undone
And you can't stick it back to back
Ripped paper
What did you expect her to do
The one that eats the glue is Annie

It's all in your head
The world isn't painted in white
If you let go right now
You won't have to put up a fight
When she's gone there is no wrong
The World is only in your mind
Oops again
I forgot that we're still scared
Annie needs to wake up
